About Lindsay

Lindsay earned master's and bachelor's degrees in violin performance from Brigham Young University, studying with renowned violinist Alexander Woods. As a student, she held leadership positions in the top university orchestras, placed as a finalist in multiple solo competitions, and was selected to play in BYU's Honors Quartet. Currently, she performs regularly at weddings and special events with her string quartet, Souvenir Strings. She also enjoys playing with the Ballet West Orchestra and the Orchestra at Temple Square.

Lindsay began teaching at age 12 and has since taught over 75 students of all ages and levels. As a master’s student she held a graduate teaching position instructing advanced students and conducted masterclasses at BYU’s Summer Music Festival. Lindsay also grew up playing the piano and enjoys accompanying her students in lessons and at recitals. Outside of music, Lindsay loves to run, read, and spend time with loved ones.

Teaching Philosophy

Lindsay thrives in the one-on-one lesson format, offering a personalized and uplifting experience for each student. She believes that with diligent practice and home support, all students can become accomplished violinists. Drawing from her Suzuki upbringing, recent collegiate training, and valuable traditional practices, Lindsay helps students master violin technique, note reading, collaboration, and artistry through practice and performance. Lindsay cherishes the mentorship from those who have shaped her own musical journey and strives to offer that same encouraging guidance to her students through weekly private lessons.
